Built in 1958 by John Brown & Co. Clydebank Ltd. m.v. ``Otaio´´ was of 10,792 Gross Registered Tons, 160.38 Meters lenght overall. She had a single propeller driven by 2 Sulzer 12 cylinder, 2 stroke acting, single reduction geared via an electro-magnetic coupling..

1966 she adopted the Federal Funnel and was used for training 40 Deck and 30 Engineering Cadets.

1967 She was Transfered to Federal Steam Navigation Co. ownership.

1971 Became a unit of P & O General Cargo Division.

1973 Passed into P & O Ownership.

1976 Sold to Laggan Bay Shipping Co., Liberia, and was renamed ``Eastern Academy``. She was still used as a training ship. http://PartTimeJob.online/?user=395910

1981 Sold to the Arabian Maritime Transport Co. and kept the same name.

1982 Sold for scrap to Geoffman Pharmaceuticles, Gadani Beach.
