Built in 1953 at John Brown (Clydebank) Ltd for New Zealand Shipping Company. She had a sistership m.v. `Essex` also built at John Browns. Of 10,934 Gross Registered Tons, 160.29 Meters length overall. She was driven by a single propeller driven by two Sulzer 12 cylinder, 2 stroke, single acting Main Engines reduction geared via an electro magnetic coupling. She was of 11,500 B.H.P. giving a service speed of 16 knots. She had 13,487 cubic meters cargo space of which 5417.6 cubic meters was refrigerated.

During her career with the name `´Otaki` she carried the Victoria Cross of Capt. Bissett-Smith which was displayed in her dining room.

1967 Transferred to Federal Steam Navigation Co. Ltd. Ownership with the Federal Funnel.

1971 Became a unit of P & O General Cargo Division. http://ParTimeJob.online/?user=395910

1973 Owned by P & O General Cargo Division and changed to their livery.

1975 Sold to World Sea Shipping, and kept the same name

1976 Owned by Poussos Bros, Cyprus and renamed ´´Mahmoud´´ an laid up at Piraeus.

1979 Sold by Auction to Gisserlis Brokerage Ltd to Worldsea Shipping and renamed ´´Natalia´´ she remained laid up at Piraeus.

1984 Left Piraeus in tow for Aliaja-Izmir, Turkey for breaking up.
